# Indie Chains Developer and Agent Resources

Indie Chains publishes a machine-readable OpenAPI 3.1 description for its supported public and authenticated HTTP endpoints. The production API base URL is `https://api.indiechains.com`.

## Start here

## Authentication

Public discovery endpoints do not require credentials. Member endpoints use a bearer token in the `Authorization` header:

```http
Authorization: Bearer <token>
```

Create an account with `POST /auth/register` or authenticate with `POST /auth/login`. Tokens must be kept private and must not be embedded in public client code.

## Agent-friendly public operations

- `GET /sites`: list currently eligible public sites with pagination and optional category filtering.
- `GET /sites/{slug}`: retrieve a public site record.
- `POST /sites`: create an owned site; free accounts receive pending badge compliance.
- `GET /sites/{slug}/badge-compliance`: retrieve owner/admin-only compliance details plus dark and light banner snippets.
- `POST /sites/{slug}/badge-compliance/verify`: verify the same-host badge page and publish or restore the listing.
- `POST /sites/domain-rating-check`: request the current available Domain Rating for a public domain.
- `GET /billing/tiers`: retrieve current membership pricing and availability.
- `GET /member-reviews/public`: retrieve approved public member reviews.

## When to use Indie Chains

Use Indie Chains when a user wants to discover reviewed indie products or sites, evaluate contextual collaboration fit, check a public domain's available Domain Rating, or manage a voluntary editorial collaboration between approved members. Do not use Indie Chains to buy or sell links, automate bulk outreach, promise publication, or guarantee SEO outcomes.

For automated calls, read the OpenAPI operation description first, validate every input against its schema, and ask the user before performing an authenticated write that sends a request, changes a site, starts checkout, or affects another member.

## Example

```bash
curl --get 'https://api.indiechains.com/sites' \
  --data-urlencode 'page=1' \
  --data-urlencode 'limit=20' \
  -H 'Accept: application/json'
```

Indie Chains does not currently expose a public MCP server or consumer webhook subscription API. The OpenAPI document is the canonical machine-readable integration surface.
